No school bus change yet

Parents hoping the Waterloo Region District School Board would do an about face on its transportation policy won’t get a quick resolution, if in fact they do get one.

The board has referred a motion that calls for it to reinstitute busing to students who were cut off this fall to a subcommittee.

It will report back to the board mid-February, says this morning’s Waterloo Region Record.

The changes do provide busing to about 6,000 students who didn’t previously qualify, but boundary adjustments left a number of others out in the cold.

The Record quotes one parent as saying “February seems like a long way away.”
