Loonie lands lower

The loonie has landed, after soaring above the American dollar today.
The dollar had been on track to close above parity with the U.S. dollar for the first time since mid-April.
But its gains faded as oil and gold prices came off their earlier highs.
The loonie closed down 36-100ths of a cent, at 99.27 cents U.S.
Analysts say its strength could hurt sales for retailers in Canada, who have already set their prices for the holiday season.
