UW hosts 14th annual open house

The University of Waterloo is welcoming thousands of potential students and their families today. It’s holding its annual fall open house, offering an in-depth look at the university.
Kim McKee, Manager of the U-W Visitors Centre, says they’ll be showcasing U-W’s academic strengths, its world-leading co-op program and what life is like on campus.
McKee says the fall open house plays a key role in student recruitment, saying grade eleven and twelve students are already starting to decide where to apply to university.
She says visiting campus is the best chance they’ll have to get a good overall feeling for the university.
This is the 14th year for the event and McKee says they usually get about 5,000 visitors. But, don’t worry if you didn’t register ahead of time.
McKee says they like people to register, but you can also just show up on campus.
She adds that there will be hundreds of volunteers and staff there to welcome everyone.
The open house runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with tours starting at the Student Life Centre.
