Johnston in war zone

He was still at the University of Waterloo just a month and a half ago, now he’s coming back from Afghanistan.

Canada’s new governor general, David Johnston, chose a war zone as the site of his first foreign trip as the Queen’s Representative.

Johnston donned combat fatigues for his whirlwind tour of Kandahar in southern Afghanistan.

Johnston said that given the quality of Canada’s military, he felt proud to wear the army garb.
