Hallloween food drive

Some homeowners around the region will be handing out more than just goodies to the ghosts and goblins making the rounds tonight.
They’ll also be donating food to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
Several programs are targeting food this year, including the “Trick or Eat” program, spearheaded by University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier students.
Food Bank Executive Director Wendi Campbell tells 570 News Halloween has become an important part of the fall food drive.
Last year, in the week following Halloween, they collected over 34,000 pounds of food.
Campbell says they are about 75% of the way to their overall goal of 375,000 pounds of food.
