‘Festing in Cambridge

For the first time, Cambridge and Elmira will be taking part in Oktoberfest.

The new additions brings the Festhalle total to 18 across the region.

“We’re excited to bring the new cities into the fold,” said spokesperson Dave McNeil.

Three days of festivities begin in Cambridge today with a free luncheon at the Festhalle tent at the Cambridge Centre.

There will also be an official keg tapping ceremony and maypole raising with Miss Oktoberfest and Onkel Hans.

The Lions club of Elmira will be holding their celebrations for one day only on Saturday October 16th.

Oktoberfest began in 1969 and is the largest Bavarian festival in North America.
