New bishop

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamilton has a new bishop.

The Pope today named Most Rev. Douglas Crosby as bishop of the southwestern Ontario diocese.

The diocese covers Waterloo Region and Guelph.

His appointment follows the resignation of Bishop Anthony Tonnos, who has led the Hamilton diocese since 1984.

Crosby is from Marathon, Ont.
