New bike facility?

An open house will be held in Waterloo tonight, aimed at gathering public opinion on a new bicycle parking facility.

The city wants to know things like; how big the structure should be, what the bike rack should look like and possible security measures.

Parking program manager Christine Tettman says the public will also get their say on a new map outlining local bikeways.

The shelter should be constructed in the fall of 2010.

The meeting is being held at the Memorial Recreation Complex from 4:00 until 8:45 tonight.

The cost of the project will be split between the Ministry of Transportation and the city.
