Landfill fire

A huge fire erupted yesterday afternoon at the Cambridge landfill and kept firefighters on the scene well into the evening.
Police say they started receiving calls around 4:30 in the afternoon as the heavy smoke built until it could be seen several kilometres away.
It appears the fire started in a pile of wooden skids off Savage Drive.
The cause is under investigation.
