No Qur’an burning

That controversial Qur’an burning set for Florida on Saturday has been scraped.

Pastor Terry Jones said he decided to cancel his protest because the leader of a planned Islamic Centre near ground zero has agreed to move its controversial location.

But a Florida imam says that no deal has been reached to move the site of the mosque.

Imam Muhammad Musri tells The Associated Press that what he offered was a meeting with Jones, the New York imam planning the Islamic centre and himself to talk about the mosque location.

Jones’ plans to burn Islam’s holiest text Saturday sparked an international outcry.
