Pendergast moving up

The Kitchener-Conestoga MPP is moving up the political ladder at Queen’s Park.
Leeanna Pendergast was recently named as the new Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Finance, Dwight Duncan.
Pendergast says it’s a real honour to know the Premier has the kind of confidence in her to move her into such a large portfolio.
She says her first task comes on the first day back at the Legislature, Sept 13th, when she will introduce first reading on a major piece of new legislation.
Pendergast could not disclose what that legislation will entail.
Pendergast says her new duties also include supporting Minister Duncan, and representing him at public events.
Pendergast, a former teacher and vice-principal, has already served as Parliamentary Assistant in the Women’s Issues and Education portfolios.
