By-law officer sprayed

GUELPH, Ont. – A man is charged after allegedly spraying a by-law officer with industrial lubricant and dog repellent.

Guelph police say a by-law officer knocked on a door while responding to a complaint of loud music at an apartment Saturday night.

They say the suspect opened the door and sprayed the by-law officer with the substances.

The officer had difficulty breathing and impaired vision but did not require medical attention.

Police say the suspect also allegedly used the dog repellent on a neighbour earlier that evening.

A 25-year-old Guelph man is facing charges, including assault.
