Hot days, cold drinks

The hot weather is forcing Ontarians to hoist a cold beverage or two; and that’s making the LCBO a lot of money.
The Toronto Star is reporting between June 20th and July 17th…..the LCBO sold 11 per cent more beer and cider than the same period last year. That’s more than two-million litres.
Sales at beer stores are up as well.
The LCBO’s warehouse in Durham has been working seven days a week to keep up with the demand over the past couple of months.
No doubt a big part of the reason behind the upsurge has been the humidity.
More than half of the days in July posted humidex readings of over 35 degrees. Last year – the number of days in July with a humidex — zero.
