Waterloo City Council has passed a new bylaw to crack down on graffiti.
The city can now get property owners to clean up the graffiti more promptly.
It can also move in, hire a contractor to do the clean up, then bill the property owner.
There is a similar graffiti bylaw in Cambridge.
A new property standards bylaw was also passed.
It enhances the city’s existing one and addresses issues such as the structural integrity of buildings, vacant properties, and air quality.
