Apple is giving free protective cases to buyers of its iPhone 4 to alleviate what’s being called the “death grip” problem.

The company has been receiving complaints that holding the phone with a bare hand can muffle the wireless signal.

Responding to the complaints at a news conference today, Apple C-E-O Steve Jobs said, “We’re not perfect.”

The iPhone 4 comes to Canada July 30th.
