Rangers pick up defender from Gens

The Kitchener Rangers have acquired defenceman Julian Melchiori in a trade with Oshawa.

The Generals get a conditional 5th round pick in 2013.

Melchiori is an Atlanta Thrashers draft pick.

He is 6 ‘3″ and 186 pounds.

Melchiori spent last season with the Newmarket Hurricanes of the Central Canadian Hockey League where he recorded 23 points in 39 games.
