Ticket sales for tonight’s Lotto Max draw have jumped 38 per cent over last week — and it’s no wonder. The total prize pool has grown to $95 million dollars — the biggest lottery draw in Canadian history.
The Lotto Max jackpot is $50 million and there are 45 Maxmillion draws, each worth $1 million dollars.
Because there are so many draws, lottery officials say the winning numbers might not be available until 5 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday.
The odds of winning the $50 million dollar jackpot are estimated at one-in 28 million.
The odds are slightly better for the 45 prizes of $1 million dollars at one-in-623-thousand.
In February, one ticket each in Quebec and B.C. split a $50 million dollar Lotto Max draw while Marie Fontaine of Pine Falls, Manitoba won the $50 million dollar jackpot last November.
