Governor General’s visit

Governor General was at the Centre In The Square in Kitchener this afternoon to talk about the importance of the arts in communities.

It was her final stop of a day-long tour through Waterloo Region.

It began this morning with a tour of Research in Motion’s Waterloo facilities.

At around noon, she met with local politicians at Kitchener city hall, including mayor Carl Zehr.

Michaelle Jean also paid a visit to the Waterloo Mennonite Central Committee where she shook hands with a small crowd and later helped pack relief kits that were recently sent to Haiti.

This is the Governor General’s second visit to Waterloo Region in two years.
