Regional police looking into a couple of fires in Kitchener – one that could have been very serious had it not been for an alert resident.
Police say just before four this morning, a tenant in a Morgan Avenue apartment building spotted a cardboard box that had been set on fire inside the rear main floor lobby.
They put it out with an extinguisher.
Meantime, less than three hours later, police were called to a fire on Centreville Street between Jansen and Morgan.
Police have not yet said if they think the two are related.
