The Ontario government says the cheque will be in the mail next week.
Eligible Ontario tax filers aged 18 and over will receive the first of three H-S-T transition payments beginning June 10th.
If you get your tax refund through direct deposit, the payment will be sent to your bank account, otherwise, a cheque will arrive in the mail. The other two payments are to come in December and next June.
Eligible families with an annual income below 160-thousand dollars will receive three payments totalling one-thousand dollars. Individuals with an annual income below 80-thousand dollars will receive three payments totalling 300 dollars.
The H-S-T — a combination of the eight per cent P-S-T and the five per cent G-S-T — comes into effect July 1st.
