Are you planning to enjoy the great outdoors this long weekend? Environment Canada says go ahead – basically all across the country.
570 News weather specialist John Wilson is calling for cloudy starts to both Saturday and Sunday but sunny afternoons and highs in the mid-20’s. As for Victoria Day Monday – we’re looking at mostly sunny skies in the region with a balmy high of 27 degrees. If you’ve taken Tuesday off, look for more sun and a daytime high of 28 degrees.
If you are planning either a short trip out of the region – or a long one somewhere else in the country, Senior Climatologist David Phillips says sunny skies and warm temperatures will dominate much of Canada from today right through to Monday.
People in Quebec and New Brunswick may even think it’s July, with temperatures in the high 20’s and sun shining all weekend.
Phillips says temperatures will be at or above seasonal norms in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Ontario, Alberta, B-C and even the territories.
But sadly for some it’s not all good — Phillips is calling for rain in Newfoundland and Labrador, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
