Car hits house in Guelph

No serious injuries are reported after a crash in Guelph that triggered the evacuation of a neighbourhood.  Police say, late yesterday morning, a car failed to obey a stop sign at Emma and Metcalfe and struck another vehicle.

That other car went out of control and struck a house, severing a gas line.

Union Gas was alerted and fixed the problem.  Total damage is estimated at $10,000.

A 92-year-old Guelph man is charged with failing to yield to traffic.
