Another roundabout on the way

Waterloo Region is getting another roundabout.  Regional councillors have voted to install a three-lane traffic circle at Maple Grove Road and Fountain Street in Cambridge.

This morning’s Record reports once Maple Grove is widened to 4 lanes, the roundabout should be in place – around 2013.

It comes as the region embarks on an ambitious plan to install 11 roundabouts along a stretch of Franklin Boulevard in Cambridge.

Councillors have also told staff to come up with more ideas to explain roundabouts to motorists, some of whom are still confused and frustrated by the increasing visible traffic circles in the region.
