The federal government is moving to put “the moves” on movers.
Industry Canada is heading up a plan to better monitor and regulate companies that move household goods after being inundated with consumer complaints that they’ve been scammed.
Federal officials say scam artists are preying on Canadians looking for cheap moving help.
Some complaints include furniture being held hostage until customers pay far more than agreed upon in the first place.
