Highway six south reopens after serious crash

Highway six south of Morriston has reopened after a crash that closed the road for about five hours.

OPP say it happened at around 6:30 this morning when a Pontiac driving south veered into the northbound lanes and hit a transport truck.

The truck overturned.

The 19 year old driver of the Pontiac was airlifted to Hamilton and is in critical condition.

A passenger in the car fled the scene.

Police say the vehicle was stolen.

The 19 year old male driver of the Pontiac Grand Prix was airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital in critical condition.

Police say the vehicle was stolen from the London area.

A male passenger in the stolen car fled the scene on foot.

The driver of the truck was not hurt, but was transported to hospital for observation.
