More info on Guelph murder arrest

Guelph Police are releasing more information after a man was arrested in connection with a murder back in May of 2008.

The body of Corrine Burns was found in a forested area of Norm Jary Park on May 27th.

Guelph Police Sergeant Doug Pflug tells 570 News the investigation was never closed and they received help from a number of outside agencies.

That included the Centre of Forensic Sciences,
Hamilton General Hospital, and the OPP’s Behavioural Sciences Unit.

Pflug also says thousands of human resources hours were devoted to the case.

Police announced the arrest of a man on Tuesday evening.

35 year old Christopher McDonald is charged with first degree murder and aggravated aggravated sexual assault.
