Better job prospects for youth

The program manager with the John Howard Society says there are signs that the job prospects for youth are improving.

Holt Sivak with the Cambridge branch says he is seeing an improvement in entry-level, service-oriented positions like retail and manufacturing.

He says they had 24 employers participate in a job fair this year and they were forced to turn some away.

Last year he says it was a struggle to get employers to take part.

Sivak says he is starting to see green shoots in the job market, although he adds that they are not full blossoms yet.
