Man charged with impaired driving

The OPP’s Highway Safety Division and Regional Police are investigating a collision on Highway 7/8 last night.
An SUV was traveling westbound on 7/8 when the driver lost control and crossed the median into the eastbound lanes. He collided with a motorcycle and two other vehicles.
The man on the motorcycle suffered life threatening injuries and was eventually air-lifted to Hamilton General.
The driver of the SUV was arrested on scene for impaired driving and was taken to the Cambridge OPP detachment for a breathalyzer test.
The highway was closed until 5 this morning for a police investigation.
Police believe that speed of the SUV was also a factor in the collision.
