Improvements for Bearinger

A lane reduction plan has been approved for a stretch of Bearinger Road in Waterloo.
The plan calls for the reduction of lanes from four to two between Westmount and Glen Forrest Blvd.
It will allow for bike lanes, left turn lanes, and pedestrian islands.
Traffic Operations Project Manager, Chris Hodgson tells 570 News it’s the first project of its kind for the city.
Construction could start in July.
