Representatives from the G-8 nations will be in Gatineau, Quebec Monday.
Foreign affairs minister Lawrence Cannon is hosting a meeting in preparation for the G-8 summit being held in Huntsville at the end of June.
Monday’s meeting, which runs through Tuesday as well, will focus on nuclear proliferation, global security, and the stability of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Cannon will also meet with ministers from four Arctic countries — Russia, the U-S, Norway and Denmark — to discuss economic development and the environment in the North.
