Cambridge road construction

Call it a prelude to what’s to come for motorists in Cambridge as the summer construction season draws near.
There are several lane and or road closures this week, but just for short-term projects.
Myers Road near Dundas will be closed Monday and part of Tuesday for the installation of a new water pipe.
Look for lane closures for the installation of a gas pipe along Concession Street at Harris Street.
Lane closures for various projects are also planned along Franklin between Dundas Street and McLaren and along Ainslie Street, between Water Street and Parkhill Road.
The main summer road construction will begin around the end of April. Phil Antoniow, Manager of Design and Construction in the city’s Transportation and Public Works Department, tells 570 News most of those projects involve asphalt overlay, but he says other projects will involve complete reconstruction of some residential roads.
