Canadian soldier dies

A Canadian soldier has died in an Edmonton hospital.

Corp. Darren James Fitzpatrick was wounded by an improvised explosive device while on foot patrol in Afghanistan back on March 6th.

The 21-year-old was from Prince George, B.C., and was on his first operational tour.

Fitzpatrick was a member of the 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry based at Canadian Forces Base Edmonton.
