Rangers Win Game One

 That’s “Cimad-A’More”.

Overage forward Julian Cimadore tied the game in the third period and then scored the overtime winner to give the Kitchener Rangers the 1-0 series lead over the Saginaw Spirit.

Rangers’ Brandon Maxwell played well in the win stopping 27-of-29 shots.

It was his counterpart though Edward Pasquale taking first star honours last night at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium stopping 51-of-54 Ranger shots.

The Rangers didn’t start the way they wanted to in the opening game of the 2009-2010 OHL playoffs.

At the end of the first period they found themselves down 2-0.

Under five minutes into the second though, Jason Akeson pulled the Blueshirts within one.

Enter Cimadamore.

The Concord, Ontario native tied the game with a short-handed marker from Matt Tipoff, sending the game to overtime.

Just over a minute into the extra-frame Cimadamore would do it again, taking another pass from Tipoff and securing the 3-2 overtime victory.

The Rangers travel to Saginaw today for game two at 7:11.

That game can be heard live here on 570news.com. Pre-game with Gary Doyle and Don Cameron at 6:35.
