Flood warning remains

The Grand River Conservation Authority’s flood warning for the Nith River remains in effect until further notice.

Spokesperson Dave Schultz says the weekend rain and warmer temperatures have caused snow to melt and river levels to rise.

Schultz says water levels peaked early Monday morning and will continue to recede later this week as the sun and warmer temperatures dry things out.

Residents are reminded that the rivers banks are slippery and the water is still cold and fast moving so the GRCA is warning everyone, especially children, to keep away from all watercourses.
