No Strike

There will be no strike by Waterloo Region outside workers.
The region and the union representing more than 200 staff have reached a tentative agreement.
The workers, members of CUPE Local 1656, could have walked off the job just after midnight, which would have affected such services as waste management, airport operations and rural road maintenance.
Details of the agreement will not be released until after it’s been ratified by both sides.
