A local couple is marking this Valentine’s Day at Sunnyside Home in Kitchener and they are remembering an amazing 53 years together.
Josie and Trevor Ince have been married for 49 of those years.
They have three children, eleven grandchildren, and were also foster parents to many others locally.
The couple met in Britain at friend’s mother’s home while Josie was doing someone’s hair. Trevor says she was a very attractive girl.
Josie admits it wasn’t love at first sight but he won her over after four years of courtship. Trevor says he knew this was the girl he wanted to marry.
Her advice to young couples starting out today is forget the stainless steel appliances and all those material things. She says that causes them to have all sorts of disagreements.
She says they never had that starting out- the day they got married they never had a knife or spoon to their name.
Trevor says they have had their differences, and says the big thing is to listen to each others opinions and do lots of compromising.
