An Enterprising Affair in Cambridge

Business-minded people are in Cambridge today for an Enterprising Affair.

It’s an event held to raise awareness of Waterloo Region’s branch of Junior Achievement.

Don Critelli, is a sales executive at Second Foundation, and sits on the board of directors for Junior Achievement. He tells 570 News the point of the event is to encourage local companies to understand a little bit more about Junior Achievement and the need for volunteers in the Cambridge area.

An Enterprising Affair also helps raise funds for Gore Mutual, Com Dev and Advocate Insurance.

Critelli says there are no boundaries to who can volunteer with Junior Achievement. Ages range from high school right up to retired people. Some experience with business is an advantage though, because most of the programs are business related.

According to Critelli, all the volunteers are very well prepared. Training is provided for the volunteers so they understand the courses being held so they can teach the programs.

The key note speaker at today’s event at the Galt Country Club is Kevin McNeil – the President and CEO of Gore Mutual Insurance.  It starts around 11:30 and runs from 1:30. Criteli says its a great way to network over lunch. Past speakers include the CEO from Com Dev — John Keating, and the President from Babcock and Wilcox.

Tickets are $40 per person. You can register at admin@jawaterlooregion.org, or call 519 576 6610.
