Eat the snack, then throw the bag into your composter out back.
Starting next month, Frito Lay will sell
its Sun Chips in bags that can be thrown into the backyard composter or the green bin.
The Sun Chips are made here in town at the Cambridge plant, and its new packaging for the chips comes from corn.
It is being called the world’s first completely compostable chip bag.
The new bag can break down in as little as
14 weeks, longer out in the backyard composts.
Frito Lay has bought up 45-second television commercials during the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The company said it sells 20 million bags of Sun Chips a year.
