Mosaic to work on national research project

A counselling agency in Kitchener will coordinate a national research project on maternal depression.
Mosaic Counselling and Family Services will look into ways of preventing and treating depression in pregnant women and new mothers.
The federal government announced nearly 300 thousand dollars in funding for the project today.
The latest studies show that maternal depression affects 10 per cent of mothers, but up to 50 per cent of those women are undiagnosed.
The final report will come up with strategies on how to identify and screen at-risk populations.
