Ottawa will invest 1.5 million dollars into Hammond Power Solutions in Guelph to help create a research and development lab.
Hammond is the largest manufacturer of dry-type transformers in North America.
The money will come from the federal government’s Southern Ontario development agency.
The program is aimed at boosting the economy and has handed out 300 million dollars to various businesses so far.
