DriveTest strike ends

The long DriveTest strike ends today now that employees have voted to ratify an agreement that was forged nearly two weeks ago.
The Drive Test centre on Ottawa Street near Lackner Blvd in Kitchener had plenty of people turning up this morning when they heard a months-long strike was over.
But a sign on the door said the office wouldn’t open until 1:00 p.m. and any test scheduled before 1:00 was cancelled.
Employees have been off the job since August 21st — preventing many Ontario drivers from getting new licenses or having existing licenses renewed.
The backlog of exams is expected to take months to clear.
