Waterloo Regional Police New Year’s Eve RIDE program underway

New Year’s Eve parties will soon be getting underway across the region, and some may already have kicked off. With that in mind, Waterloo Regional Police roll out their New Year’s Eve RIDE program this afternoon.
Sergeant Scott Richardson from the Traffic Services Branch tells 570 News, they’ll be out in force well into the wee hours of New Year’s Day morning. He says, as usual, they are taking a zero tolerance approach to drunk driving. If you are caught, you will be taken into custody and face a license suspension, fine and potential jail time.
He says there are alternatives to impaired driving you can take a cab, have a designated driver or just stay over where you are partying.
