In the ‘She Is Your Neighbour’ podcast, Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region takes a deep dive into domestic violence. Throughout this season, the podcast will build on topics explored in Season 1 and fill in the blanks by covering new topic areas. Join us as we explore the realities and complexities of domestic violence. Our goal is to increase awareness and understanding of domestic violence through thought-provoking discussions, highlighting groups who are disproportionately impacted. We all have a role to play in ending domestic violence. For a list of episodes and a trailer for Season 2, click here: https://wcswr.org/she-is-your-neighbour/podcast-season-2/

The NoteWorthy Singers had its beginning in 1974 when a small number of volunteer seniors gathered around a piano and practiced with words only and called themselves the Merry Melodies. The City of Waterloo sponsored this group and provided the rehearsal space. During their first 25 years, The Merry Melodies grew into a choir that performed regularly at senior’s homes. They’ve performed at various churches, at The Humanities Theatre, The River Run Centre and The Evergreen Centre in Guelph and participated in the 150 Year celebrations for the City of Waterloo. In 2012, the Merry Melodies became The NoteWorthy Singers. Under the direction of Terry English and accompanied by Trudy Dey, they continue the tradition of performing for seniors throughout Waterloo Region. Now, the NoteWorthy Singers boasts membership of 80 very young sounding senior singers who enjoy themselves every Monday afternoon, learning varied styles of music. They still receive support from the City of Waterloo and the City of Kitchener. Their ‘Summer Serenade’ concert will be aired on Rogers TV on August 1st, 2nd, and 6th.
