Murphy’s Law Distillery Ltd. ( of Elmira is pleased to announce the release of Not Wasted Vodka. More than a year in the making, this small batch artisan vodka is made with 2,000+ pounds of food waste with proceeds going to support the vital work of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region ( to ensure no one goes hungry in our community. Like most innovative projects, Not Wasted began with the question “Can food waste be reused and diverted from the landfill?”.  As noted by Ben Murphy, owner of Murphy’s Law Distillery, “We are passionate about ensuring nothing is wasted so were excited when a group of community leaders approached us about working with them on this fundraising project in support of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. The Food Bank does much needed work in our community and is the centre of the Community Food Assistance Network comprised of 100+ agencies and programs which provide essential meals, shelter, nutrition outreach, counselling and connection to many other services. Food waste has reached record breaking numbers in Canada so anything we can do to divert it from our local landfill as well as support The Food Bank is a win-win.”

Each bottle (750mL) will be sold for $67.50 which includes a $40 tax receipted donation to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. The vodka can be purchased at Murphy’s Distillery storefront located at 90 Earl Martin Drive in Elmira.
