Skip the bacon and eggs and instead enjoy Ice Cream for Breakfast on Saturday, September 21st, at the Stanley Park Community Centre. Madison Letizi suffers from a spinal disease and has had seven surgeries, with an eighth scheduled this fall. When she was seven years old, she was able to take a trip thanks to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Now, Madison raises money each year to support the foundation, and help other children take their “wish trips.” Help Madison reach her fundraising goal by having ice cream – with all the fixins’ – for breakfast on Saturday morning, 9-12, at the Stanley Park Community Centre. The 6th annual Hockey Helps the Homeless KW tournament is just over a month away. Players are treated to a minimum of three games and will have the chance to play alongside a former NHL’er or Olympian. This year’s tournament takes place on Friday, October 25th, at RIM Park in Waterloo. All monies raised support local agencies involved in the fight against homelessness, including the House of Friendship, Lutherwood, OneRoof Youth Services, YW K-W, and the Homelessness and Housing Umbrella Group. The goal this year is to raise more than $200,000, which will take the KW tournament over the milestone of $1-million raised, in just six years.
