Visit the decorated historic homes at Doon Heritage Village for a unique holiday tradition. Let your little ones meet Father Christmas, and enjoy a sing-along to your favourite Christmas carols during the village’s Country Christmas celebrations. 

For a special evening experience, indulge in freshly made Christmas goodies and warm apple cider as you stroll thru the village at night during Doon’s Lantern-Lit Tours. Advance Tickets required.

December 10 & 17 at the Kitchener Market

  1. Cambridge Christmas Market 

December 10 & 11 at the Cambridge Centre for the Arts  

This award-winning Christmas market has grown exponentially since its inception in 2012 and this year will offer almost 60 local artisans, crafters and makers. The Cambridge Christmas Market is a favourite shopping destination for unique gifts, seasonal food and a great shopping atmosphere.  Details are available here.  

 

  1. Murdoch Mysteries Experience at THEMUSEUM 

On Now thru February 2023 

Murdoch Mysteries: The Exhibition transports you behind the scenes of this internationally acclaimed show. Step behind the camera and immerse yourself in the fascinating history, science, and fashion of the series – which has also taped episodes in various locations throughout Waterloo Region!   

 

  1. Catch a Holiday Performance at The Centre In The Square 

From Handel’s Messiah with the Grand Philharmonic Choir to the KW Symphony’s Yuletide Spectacular, take in the sounds of the season at Kitchener’s Centre In the Square. The Barenaked Ladies also brings their Hometown Holiday Tour to CITS, and Canada’s Ballet Jorgen presents The Nutcracker. For tickets and information head to the website.  

 

  1. New Year’s Eve in Waterloo Region 

The cities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo are getting ready to ring in the New Year with special celebrations.  

Cambridge rings in the New Year early with its special New Year’s Eve Party that wraps up the city’s Winterfest celebrations. 

In Kitchener you can ring in the new year with a free family skate, live DJ, and more in Carl Zehr Square

And Waterloo you can ring in the New Year by enjoying a number of family-friendly activities at the city’s recreation facilities. You can also celebrate in Uptown Waterloo: the Public Square will feature ice skating, crafts, music, and delicious treats from a KW favourite food truck.
