Youth charged after another lost consciousness during choking incident at Kitchener school

A youth is facing several charges after a choking incident at a public school in Kitchener.

Police are not naming the school, but police were informed of the alleged assault in a classroom at the school on Tuesday, November 30.

Their investigation revealed that a student allegedly played the "tap out game" on another student.

The victim was choked until he lost consciousness, then fell, hitting his head. He was taken to Grand River Hospital for treatment.

A youth has been charged with assault cause bodily harm and assault cause bodily harm - strangulation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
