Woman charged with impaired driving following collision in North Dumfries

Impaired driving charges have been laid by regional police following a collision in North Dumfries.

The incident occurred just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Cedar Creek Road and Northumberland Street. 

Through investigation police determined the accused, a 40 year-old Wilmot woman rear ended another vehicle travelling east along Cedar Creek. 

They then fled the scene but, were later located by police. 

The driver of the hit vehicle was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

The accused is now facing multiple charges including operation while impaired, failure to stop after an accident and refusal to comply with demand. 

The woman is set to appear in court on April 20th.
