Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit have charged a male after completing an investigation into child pornography.

In September 2021, police commenced an investigation after receiving a tip from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.

Investigators completed a search warrant at a residence in Waterloo on December 1, 2021.

As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Waterloo male was charged with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography and Making Available Child Pornography.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
