Two youths charged following weapon incident in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate following a reported weapon call in Kitchener.

That call saw officers respond to the area of Fischer-Hallman Road – after reports of a weapon incident at Forest Heights Collegiate Institute. 

Through their investigation, police learned that a number of youths attended the high school and confronted another youth, brandishing weapons including a knife. 

Police said that group of youths was confronted by an additional youth not involved in the dispute. That additional youth was assaulted by the group, suffering minor injuries. 

Officers were able to locate a male youth and female youth, arresting both. 

The involved male has since been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of failing to comply with a release order. 

The female youth has been charged with assault with a weapon, breach of probation and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. 

The investigation is still ongoing – anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
